I collect interesting shaped tableware from thrift stores, including, cups, mugs, plates, milk jugs and beer mugs.
Then i make a three piece plaster mould of the piece.
I slip cast the shape in the mould, which means i pour liquid clay into the mould, the plaster absorbs the moisture from the clay and forms a skin on the inside of the mould, which make the walls of the piece
One dried a bit i open the mould, and voila, an exact replica of the original!! woo hoo
it always needs cleaning up a bit along the seams. the next step is bisque firing, then glazing, and firing
then applying the ceramic decals which either my husband and i screenprint with ceramic colours
one last firing and thats it finally finished
